Aris Myrkos
Physical Education & Sports Science
Dr. Aris Mirkos is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education & Sports Science of the Democritus University of Thrace. He holds a Master's degree in the field of maximising athletic performance and is a Doctor of Democritus University in the field of Exercise Physiology (Exercise Physiology).
He is a lecturer at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the course "Human Physiology", founder and head coach of triathletes and runners of the training services company sciencetraining and is also a personal trainer of professional basketball players of Euroleague level.
He is an active member of the Hellenic Society of Exercise Biochemistry and Physiology, while his research interest in the broader field of exercise physiology is reflected in more than 50 publications in scientific conferences and journals.
For 12 consecutive years he was an active researcher at the physiology laboratory of the University of Komotini, having carried out hundreds of evaluations of athletes (ergometry) of the whole spectrum of physical performance. As a coach he has guided >900 athletes of all levels with qualification in world triathlon championships in the open category and multiple distinctions of his athletes (runners and triathletes) in endurance sports. An ambassador of the lifelong exercise doctrine and keen to combine theory with practice, he is a marathon, ultra-marathon and long distance Ironman triathlon athlete and has finished special conditions triathlon races such as the ICON extreme triathlon and the PATAGONMAN extreme triathlon.
